‘Jiu-Jitsu Empress’ Mackenzie Dunn (30, USA-Brazil) defeated Angela Hill (38, USA) by showing off her outstanding striking skills.
Dawn, ranked 8th in the UFC women’s strawweight rankings, won a unanimous decision victory (49-43, 49) over 14th place Hill in the main event of ‘UFC Fight Night: Dunn vs. -44, 49-44).
As she foretold, she ran aggressively. She moved forward throughout the game, unilaterally beating Hill. Dunn confesses that she has been in and out of court throughout her training camp due to her recent divorce-related lawsuit, which she said will vent her accumulated anger in her octagon.
Her blows were all over the place. Dunn is a former Jiu-Jitsu world champion, but her strikes were criticized for being poor. She did but this time she was different. In all but the second round, she overpowered Muay Thai Fighter Hill with blows. She did everything from basic jabs to close-range elbows. She also showed off a high-level technique of throwing a hook while falling backwards.
From the start of the first round, she took the lead in an exchange of close range blows before she finally landed the heel with her right hook. Dunn poured ground and pounding on the fallen Hill before attempting an armbar submission, his special skill. Her bell rang at the end of the first round, and Hill was barely able to survive.
Except for the second round, when Hill took the back position from the standings, the game went the same way. Dunn first damaged Hill with a blow, then took her to the ground and pounded and elbowed her before attempting her submission. Hill was barely holding on. 먹튀검증
In an interview after the game, Dunn said about the reason for the blowout, “Heel advanced on me. I thought he would step back and move a lot and fight. However, Hill challenged the fight in the middle of the Octagon. I am not a fighter who never falls back. So he decided to have a slugfest in the center,” he explained.
With this victory, Dunn recorded 8 wins and 3 losses in the UFC (13 wins and 3 losses in total). Now he can fight the top contenders once again and aim for a title shot.
Dunn called up Rose Namajunas (30, USA), former UFC women’s strawweight champion and current ranking No. 2.
He said, “I don’t know what Namayunas is doing these days. But she said if he’s willing to keep fighting, she wants to fight him,” she said. “She hasn’t fought a former champion yet. She thinks she can get that opportunity now,” she said.
