Schauffler reclaims world No. 1… Koepka wins PGA Championship, finishes 13th

Scotty Schauffler has regained the world No. 1 ranking in men’s golf.

Schauffler finished tied for second at the PGA Championship, a major championship that concluded at Oak Hill CC in Rochester, New York, on April 22.

He earned 10.9673 points in the Men’s Golf Weekly World Ranking, which was released after the tournament. He moved to No. 1 in the world, ahead of Yon Ram (10.5693), who finished tied for 50th in the tournament.

Schauffler and Rahm have been in an intense battle for the No. 1 ranking this year. Schauffler won the PGA Tour’s Phoenix Open in February to take the top spot. However, Rahm moved into the top spot after winning the Genesis Invitational.안전놀이터

Schauffler then won the Players Championship to regain the world No. 1 ranking, but lost it to Rahm, who won the Masters. However, he regained the top spot by winning his second major of the year, the PGA Championship. It was his third world No. 1 ranking this year.

Rahm dropped to No. 2, while Rory McIlroy, who finished the PGA Championship tied for seventh, remained at No. 3.

Brooks Koepka, who won the PGA Championship for his fifth career major victory, moved up to No. 13 from No. 44 last week. Koepka, who moved to LIV Golf in June of last year, returned to the top of the PGA Tour standings for the first time in more than two years and three months since the Phoenix Open in February 2021.

Koepka has five wins in the majors, including three at the PGA Championship, making him the first LIV Golf player to win a major.
Viktor Hovland, who finished runner-up at the PGA Championship, moved up five spots to No. 6 from No. 11 last week. Sungjae Lim slipped one spot from last week to No. 19. Joo Hyung Kim dropped two spots to No. 21.
