Brooks Reilly (New York Mets), who played for the Lotte Giants in the KBO League for five seasons and joined the US national team through the US Major League (MLB), gave up participating in the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC).
American media, such as the Orange County Register, reported today (11th), “Rayley has withdrawn from the US national team due to injury. The injured area is unknown.”
Team USA selected left-handed bullpen Aaron Roof (LA Angels) as a substitute. 바카라
Rayleigh, who threw as a starter for Lotte from 2015 to 2019 and posted an average ERA of 4.13 with 48 wins and 53 losses, returned to the major leagues in 2020 and played as a bullpen pitcher.
Last year, he appeared in 60 games for the Tampa Bay Rays, going 1-2 with 6 saves and 25 holds with a 2.68 earned run average, establishing himself as a key bullpen.
Looking to win the 2023 season, the Mets acquired Rayleigh in a trade to strengthen their bullpen.
Rayleigh also enjoyed the honor of being selected for the 2023 WBC U.S. national team, and yesterday (10th) took the mound in an evaluation match against the Los Angeles Angels and blocked one inning with no hits and no runs.
However, he was dropped from the national team one day before the opening of Group C (12th) in which the United States belongs.
