Neighbors Bukichi and Purcell fight for the Busan Open title

The 2023 Head Busan Open Challenger (ATP 125, hereinafter Busan Open) singles final was confirmed as a match between neighbors in Sydney, Australia. Max Purcell (#87 in the world) and Alexander Vukic (#127 in the world) battle for the Busan Open title.

On the 13th, in the semifinals of the 2023 Busan Open singles held at the Spoone Tennis Stadium in Busan, Vukic beat Brandon Holt (USA, world number 208) 7-6(4) 6-1, and Purcell defeated Gabriel Diallo (Canada, world number 162). ) were defeated with 6-4 and 7-5, respectively.

In the two matches that started together at 3:30 p.m.

Overcoming the crisis in the first set was decisive. Bukichi allowed Holt to break in the first set 2-3 situation, causing a crisis by 2-4. However, he immediately broke Holt’s serve game (3-4), and then turned the pendulum back to square one by protecting his own serve game (4-4). The one-step battle continued until the tie-break, and Bukichi, who was slightly ahead in concentration at the end, won and took the first set. 먹튀검증

The second set was a landslide victory for Bukichi. With a 2-1 lead, Bukichi broke Holt’s serve game and widened the score gap, shaking Holt with an accurate passing shot. Holt used all three challenge opportunities in the second set, but all failed. In the end, he showed a loss of fighting spirit and could not overcome the shock of defeat in the first set.

Thirty minutes after Vukic’s victory, Purcell also announced the victory. Purcell, who is in peak condition in this tournament, took the lead by protecting all of his serve games in the first set. In the second set, he gave up his first serve game and made an uneasy start (0-2), but soon broke Diallo’s serve game immediately and did not give up the initiative (2-2).

The 5-5 situation in the second set was the highlight. It was Diallo’s sub game, and even the points were pushed to 0-40. But here Purcell’s concentration shone. He restored the point, made a gearco deuce, and even succeeded in breaking. In the end, the match ended with the second set at 7-5.

On the 12th, Purcell, who had made it to the finals in doubles as well, captured even the singles match today, leaving the possibility of winning two gold medals. In the history of the Busan Open, no player has yet succeeded in a double in singles.

Vukic and Purcell both live in Sydney and train together. The feelings of the two preparing for the final were also similar.

“Purcell is a really good player, and his performance this season is good. It will be a tough game, but we will play as usual,” said Purcell, “If you play practice matches with Bukic, he wins every day. Tomorrow is the final, so there is nothing special. It is always the same. With that in mind, I will play the game tomorrow.”

The Busan Open final match between Australian neighbors Purcell and Bukichi will be held at the same place from noon on the 14th.
