On the 6th, in the final of the 2023 Taebaek Mountain Cup National 3-Cushion Billiards Competition held at Gowon Gymnasium in Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do, Jo Myung-woo Cho competed with Cha Myung-jong (Incheon City Sports Association, 31st place) and won 50-22 in 30 innings and reached the top of the tournament. It was a game in which Jo Myung-woo, who is ranked second in the domestic ranking, had the upper hand all the time except for the beginning of the game.
The two players engaged in an exploratory battle, recording 0-point averages side by side until the 10th inning. However, in 13 innings, Cho Myung-woo took the flow. Cho Myung-woo scored 10 points in 13 to 15 innings, but Myung-jong Cha only scored 2 points. Cho Myung-wu took a 27-15 lead in the 21st inning.
Jo Myung-woo reached the top at the Donghae Cup 2022 National Billiards Championship in November of last year, the 3-Cushion World Cup in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in December, and the National Territory Central Cup and Asia Carom Championships in March this year. By winning this tournament, he reaffirmed his presence in the men’s 3-cushion field.
In the women’s division, Park Jeong-hyeon (Jeonnam Billiards Federation, 7th place) defeated Kim Ha-eun (Seoul Billiards Federation, 5th place) 25-13 in 29 innings and won the championship for the second consecutive time.
