Red Devils will gather to cheer on the Taeguk Warriors in the U-20 World Cup semi-finals with red shouts.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Monday that it will hold a street cheer to support the national team against Italy in the FIFA U-20 World Cup semi-final at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul from 5am on the 9th. The match will be held from 6am.안전놀이터
Prior to this, the Jongno District Office in Seoul held a deliberation committee on the afternoon of the 8th and gave the final approval to hold the street cheer.
The U-20 World Cup street cheer, which will be led by the national team’s supporters, the Red Devils, is a joint initiative of the Korea Federation of Businessmen and Entrepreneurs, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It will be the first time in about seven months that Gwanghwamun Square has hosted a street cheer since the three group stage matches and the Round of 16 match against Brazil in Qatar last November.
Previously, large-scale group cheers were held at the U-20 World Cup. This will be the sixth time South Korea has done so, following a highly anticipated group stage match against Brazil in 2005, a group stage match and round of 16 match against Portugal in 2017 when the tournament was held at home, and the final against Ukraine in 2019.
South Korea will face Italy at 6am on 9 September at La Plata Stadium in La Plata, Argentina, for a place in the final. If they reach the final, they will face the winner of Uruguay-Israel.
