Boston has won two games in a row after losing three straight in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Eastern Conference Finals (best-of-seven) to force a best-of-six series.
Boston won Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Miami 110-97 on Saturday to even the series at two games apiece. Boston took a 2-0 lead on Jayson Tatum’s first basket of the game, a layup, and never relinquished the lead. There were two ties (2-2, 4-4). “I think the series is over,” Boston forward Jaylen Brown said after the win.
The Heat got a balanced scoring effort, with Derrick White (24 points), Marcus Smart (23 points), Brown (21 points), and Tatum (21 points) all scoring at least 20 points. By comparison, Miami didn’t have a single player score more than 20 points. Even Miami’s ‘ace’ Jimmy Butler was held to 14 points. That’s his lowest point total in a single game in the POs this season. Butler had averaged 29.6 points in 14 PO games this season prior to the night. Miami shot itself in the foot with 13 interceptions on the night.
Game 6 between the two teams will be played on the 28th in Miami’s backyard. “We need to finish the series at home,” Butler said. The best-of-seven series will be played at home in Boston.스포츠토토
